"Over 20 years ago, as my peers and I were beginning our careers, I uncovered a passion and natural knack: supporting friends and family with document preparation, job search, and professional development. Fast forward and after years of providing employment services in a variety of professional settings, including on the side, I couldn’t ignore the general lack of accessible, personable and quality employment preparation services. In 2013, I founded A Foot in the Door Consulting turning my expertise into a niche LLC. My success, I believe, is due to my education and experience as a social worker where I have fine tuned active listening and strengths-based service provision. Others have told me it lies in my sincere passion for the work and experience sitting at all ends of the employment table; from applicant to interviewer and entry level to senior manager."

Courtney is a Certified Professional Resume Writer from the Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Counselors, and a Work Ethics Trainer from The Center for Work Ethic Development. She earned a Bachelors in Clinical Social Work from Western Michigan University and a Masters in Social Work: Leadership and Program Planning from the University of Denver. She has extensive experience providing job search preparation services to clients in an array of fields: IT/Tech, Sales, Medical, Social Sciences, Customer Service, Administrative, Non-Profit Administration, Public and Private Education, Media & Communications, Art & Design, Culinary, and so many more. While Courtney has lived in or traveled to 47 of the 50 United States, she’s been a Coloradan for over 15 years (though a Michigander at heart.) She loves spending time outdoors with her family and friends hiking, BBQing, camping, and listening to live music.
